Albay is a province of the Philippines located in the Bicol Region in Luzon. The capital city is Legazpi and the province borders Camarines Sur to the north and Sorsogon to the south. Northeast is Lagonoy Gulf which leads into to the Philippine Sea, and to the southwest is Burias Pass.
Mt. Mayon is the symbol most associated with this province. This nearly perfectly-shaped active volcano is about 15 kms from the capital city of Legazpi.
Agriculture being the main industry in Albay produces crops such as coconuts, rice, sugar and abaca. Handicrafts are also a major source of income along with Fishing, Tourism, Forestry and Papermaking. Mt. Mayon is a major tourism draw for Albay.
Legazpi City also has its own domestic airport which serves as Bicol's gateway to Manila and the Visayas.
