Central Visayas, or Region VII, is the region of the Philippines which is located in the central part of the Visayas group of islands. It is made up of four provinces: Bohol,   Cebu,   Negros Oriental, and Siquijor. Cebu City is it's regional center.
The Port of Cebu is the region's main gateway. The Mactan-Cebu International Airport, located in Lapu-Lapu City, is the country's second busiest airport and the only airport in the Visayas serving international flights.
The airport opened in the mid-1960s and was expanded over the years to become the second busiest in the Philippines after Manila's Ninoy Aquino International Airport with the name of Mactan-Cebu International Airport (MCIA).
